Field Service Engineer

Job description

Due to the growth of the company we require an additional Senior Service Engineer to join our team. The company supply, install and service industrial large machines and and associated machinery to customers nationwide. The ideal candidate should have experience in mostly electrical engineering and some mechanical engineering, have experience in moving machinery and recommissioning machinery, have understanding of industrial PLC controlled manufacturing machinery and follow preventative maintenance services to existing installations. The candidate should also be able to periodically work away from home including occasional weekends dependent on work schedules.

This position is open to candidates in the Yorkshire region looking to lead a Team of Engineers

Previous experience in heavy engineering would be very desirable. Previous Supervisor/Managerial experience very desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of new machinery in UK customer facilities.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance scheduled services to existing machinery.
  • To carry out onsite breakdown repairs.
  • Keep all service records and maintenance reports up to date.
  • To carry out industrial fan services and vibration testing & analysis.

Skills and Experience Electrical and Mechanical experience.

  • HSE awareness.
  • The ability to communicate well and be confident with customers.
  • Self disciplined and motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Systematic fault finding skills.
  • Good organisational skills and IT literate.
  • Experience in the use of Fork lift trucks and overhead cranes (not essential).
