About the Role:
Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a prominent manufacturing business in Ilkley, seeking a skilled Fitter/Fabricator to join their team. This is a permanent role with morning shifts, offering an excellent hourly rate and the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble metal components in line with precise engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard, particularly on stainless steel.
- Fit fabricated parts into assemblies, ensuring all components meet required specifications.
- Operate and maintain robotic welding equipment (training available if necessary).
- Ensure all fabricated and assembled products meet stringent quality and safety standards.
- Carry out routine checks and maintenance of equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment at all times.
- Proactively suggest and implement improvements in fabrication and assembly processes.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Apprentice-trained in fabrication, welding, or mechanical fitting (or equivalent qualification).
- Proficient in MIG and TIG welding, particularly on stainless steel.
- Experience with fabrication, fitting, and assembly of metal components.
- Some experience with robot welding equipment is beneficial, though training will be provided.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and work to precise specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- A willingness to learn new skills and develop within the role.
- Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
