Pipe Fitter/Welder – £15 - £20 per hour depending on experience – Leeds, West Yorkshire

We are looking for a skilled Pipe Fitter/Welder to join our Installations/Aftersales team. You will be responsible for pipefitting, steelwork fabrication, and welding activities to maintain facilities, ensuring they meet our high standards of safety and efficiency.
Working closely with other team members, you will interpret engineering blueprints, carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, and support our continuous improvement in pipework and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vessels and equipment for non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, including breakdowns.
- Assist in developing and reviewing maintenance programmes.
- Coordinate and optimise spare parts and stock levels for pipefitting and welding.
- Weld hygienic stainless steel dairy tubing and schedule tubing within safety standards.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in all work areas.
- Report any unsafe situations.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members.
The Company
Stainless Steel Vessels Limited (SSV) design and supply brewhouses, process vessels and pipework to the beverage industry. We also offer a wide range of products including pumps, valves and fittings as well as our new hopinator for dry hopping.

The Person
We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 3 years of experience in pipefitting, welding, or fabrication.
- Strong TIG welding skills, particularly in hygienic stainless steel dairy tube welding.
- Ability to plan pipe routes for efficiency and aesthetic appeal.
- Experience with confined spaces and MEWP/FLT equipment.
- Qualifications to BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017, with MIG welding desirable.
- A UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
You’ll be methodical, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You should be prepared to work away from home for up to 5 days, occasionally including weekends.
