  • The salary for the position is competitive, and candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience.

Do you love looking through data, spotting patterns, and identifying trends?

You’ll be working across three areas of the business (customer service, procurement, and logistics) and will get to know more about them.

Graduates have done very well with the business before, and been given responsibility.

Your role will be split roughly equally, between:

Helping the Business Services Manager with analysing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing projects to drive organisational growth.

And developing and implementing data analytics solutions to enhance operational efficiency, optimize processes, and improve decision-making within the company.

The business is a world leading manufacturer of a specialist range of chemicals, and they send a lot of them abroad. So export is a big area for them, and one example of an area you can look at is the costs of transport. You could potentially save the business a lot of money through finding ways to make savings.

You'll be looking at things like processes, to see ways that things can be improved. And also researching the market to find out more about competitors etc.

At times, you will be working with the customer service team, maybe covering when someone is on holiday, so you will get contact with customers. This will help you to get a good overall understanding of how the business operates.

You'll be using Power BI as part of your job; if you've already used it that's great, but don't worry if not- it will be something interesting for you to learn (google it if you're not sure what it is).

It's a job where you can really push yourself, and develop; your Manager will encourage you to progress within the business.

WHAT DO YOU NEED...

There is some flexibility in degree type, though preferred ones include Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, or Computer Science.

You will need to be good with analysing data, looking through it yourself and spotting patterns; this is more of a business role, not IT. You'll have an analytical mind and a logical way of thinking.

WHERE YOU'LL BE DOING IT...

Location is Leek, and commutable from Macclesfield, Stoke, and Ashbourne and you will need to be already based within 15 miles or so. Or if you are easily able to relocate due to connections in the area that is ok, but please do mention it on your application.

WHAT TO DO NEXT…

If you fit the profile then please send your cv asap. We will then speak more about the role and business, and how it may match what you are looking for.
