Role: Medical Nutrition Manager - Innovation

JOB PURPOSE

The primary responsibility will be to provide market and product knowledge along with nutrition and dietetic insights and expertise into new concept development in AYMES Nutrition both for the UK and other global markets. Using commercial, market and product insights along with technical, regulatory and project management skills you will be responsible for scoping out new NPD concepts, writing the business cases and leading on the initial development. Your commercial and clinical insights will help to form the AYMES Medical Nutrition Innovation Strategy. This will involve identifying and working with external key opinion leaders at concept stage, liaising with the NPD Manager and Supply Chain to identify suitable manufacturing partners and providing the medical nutrition and commercial expertise into the NPD process.

By applying the evidence base and regulatory framework along with your commercial acumen you will develop robust product offerings that have clear market positioning and messaging helping to establish AYMES as a key innovator in the field of medical nutrition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for identifying UK and global market opportunities based on current research, clinical practice and market trends. At concept stage you will be responsible for developing a business case which will be appraised by the Senior Leadership Team.

At concept stage you will be responsible for liaising with key opinion leaders and gaining insight and feedback on new concepts. Using your commercial, clinical and regulatory expertise, you will be integral to guide the development once a contract manufacturer is secured. Understanding your own limitations, you will need to recognise when additional expertise may be required either from within the existing AYMES team or external to the business.

Keeping up to date with the evidence base, market trends and competitor activity you will proactively seek and share new insights that could benefit the business to support future NPD concepts and new ingredient innovation. You will lead on the wider development of the AYMES Medical Nutrition Innovation Strategy.

Working with AYMES Product Managers at both UK and Global level you will ensure products developed are designed to meet patient needs and country specific requirements.

By applying the evidence base and regulatory framework you will develop corporate product rationales with clear market positioning and scientific messaging helping to establish AYMES as a key innovator in the field of medical nutrition.

Using defined systems and processes you will maintain a high level of information governance around technical information and support the adherence to quality standards at all times in line with ISO 9001 accreditation.

ROLE PROFILE

You will possess excellent nutrition and dietetic knowledge and have applied this in a commercial environment. Extensive knowledge and experience of the medical nutrition market is essential along with a strong commercial acumen.

You will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision whilst maintaining a team focus and working towards wider business objectives.

You are confident in your ability to manage complex projects and understanding when additional expertise is required for maximum results

You will have excellent communication skills to foster relationships both internally and externally to achieve key business objectives

Alongside the above we expect excellent interpersonal skills, a good attention to detail, excellent IT skills and the ability to work as part of a wider team whilst working remotely.

Proactive and accountable you will have a clear drive to deliver on your objectives

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

HCPC Registered Dietitian with at least 5-10 years clinical NHS experience

Industry experience in a nutrition manager role (medical affairs) within the medical nutrition or related industry.

Sales and/or marketing experience in medical nutrition or related industry.

Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind, outstanding communication skills and ability to be self-motivated and proactive to drive key projects

IT literate across Microsoft 365 and TEAMS
