AV Studio Assistant | Oldham, OL4 5JL | Full Time | Salary depending on experience

Character Options Limited is part of The Character Group plc, an AIM-listed toy company. We design, develop, and distribute a wide range of licensed and non-licensed products, including Heroes of Goo Jit Zu, Teletubbies, Doctor Who, Ben & Holly, and more. With offices in the UK, Denmark, the US, and Asia, we are investing in a direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce division to drive online sales growth.

We are looking for someone to assist in the creation of video content for both television and online purposes. To create engaging content with innovative ideas and approaches, utilizing the entire range of production and postproduction skills.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • 2yrs+ experience real world editing (Audio or Video).
  • Understanding of the technical requirements for broadcast materials.
  • Creative problem solver with an eye for detail.
  • Comfortable working unsupervised.
  • Flexibility with multi-tasking – it is a small dept., and everyone needs to be able to do whatever is needed to get the job done.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and deliver completed videos on time.
  • A passion for toys and kids’ entertainment industry.
  • Experience using the following would be preferred but not essential - Autodesk Flame, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Suite, Avid ProTools, DaVinci Resolve, Cinema 4d.

What will your role look like?

Broadcast Administration

  • Prepping and submitting TV commercials to Clearcast for broadcast approvals.
  • Uploading materials to Ad stream and placing the station orders.
  • Placing copy instructions for the broadcast stations on the Caria system.
  • Maintain clock number database.

Data Handling

  • Supply customers with required materials (such as international commercials).
  • Ensure that online hosts are up to date with latest TVCs and demo content.
  • Downloading and prepping materials from external suppliers.

Online Content Creation

  • Work with the marketing team to plan new online content.
  • Prepare and shoot video content for online distribution (retail and social).
  • All post-production necessary to edit and finalize content.
