Location: Leicester

Salary: Up to £34,000 DOE

The company:

Our client is a leading specialist in air-based material handling systems. Known for their expertise in heavy duty industrial pneumatic technology. They maintain strong client relationships and deliver custom-engineered solutions to meet complex industry demands. With over 50 years of experience, their business continues to lead the market, offering cutting-edge solutions with a focus on customer satisfaction and repeat business.

They employ around 50 members of staff based out of there offices here in Leicester and have seen year on year growth of around 15% PA growing from an £8 Million turn over in 2019 to £14 Million in 2023. This has allowed them to consistently grow there Engineering team by one head year on year.

The role:

As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing the full lifecycle of projects, from initial site surveys through to manufacturing, and then finally installation on site. You’ll work closely with the design team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure the smooth execution of each project, with a focus on ducting and sheet metal components.

Key responsibilities as a Project Engineer will include:

  • Conducting site surveys and taking measurements
  • Producing 2D drawings using AutoCAD and creating 3D models with SolidWorks
  • Managing the ordering of parts and materials and liaising with subcontractors
  • Overseeing installation processes and booking fitters for on-site work
  • Performing site inspections post-installation, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications
  • Maintaining constant communication with clients and internal teams to track project timelines and progress
  • Supporting project management tasks, including budgeting and timeline control

What we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • Previous design experience, particularly in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D)
  • At least one year of on the job engineering experience
  • Ambition to move into a projects-based role
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • A collaborative attitude, with excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • An ambition to learn and apply knowledge in a fast-paced environment
