Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and flexible Electrical Biased Field Service Engineer to provide nationwide support across multiple depots. This role involves a mix of hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, and offering technical support via a help desk when required. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electrical systems in rolling stock and associated equipment.
*Provide technical support remotely via a help desk, assisting with fault finding and troubleshooting.
*Travel to various depots nationwide to support maintenance teams and resolve technical issues.
*Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and electronic systems.
*Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and depot teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
*Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
*Maintain accurate records of work completed and report on technical issues.
Requirements:
*Electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
*Experience working on rolling stock, heavy plant, or industrial electrical systems.
*Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in electrical and electronic systems.
*Ability to travel nationwide as required.
*Full UK driving licence (Company van provided).
*Comfortable working 4 on / 4 off shifts, including nights and weekends.
*Strong communication and customer service skills, both in-person and via help desk support.
