We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our team. Job Summary: As a Part-Time Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization. You will manage financial records, prepare reports, and support budgeting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will collaborate closely with other team members to promote transparency, accuracy, and accountability in all financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with not-for-profit accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.

  • Prepare and file relevant tax documents (e.g., Form 990).

  • Support the external audit process and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

  • Maintain financial records in accordance with established guidelines.

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making by management.

  • Assist with grant reporting and fund tracking.

  • Respond to inquiries related to financial matters from internal staff and external stakeholders.

  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounting, with a preference for experience in a not-for-profit organization.

  • Solid understanding of not-for-profit accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations (e.g., 990 filings).

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • CPA or equivalent certification is a plus but not required.
