Financial Accountant - Central Services

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a Central Services Financial Accounting team for a multi-national organisation. This role involves supporting the Financial Controller in preparing management accounts, handling IFRS 16 lease accounting, managing intercompany loans, and reconciling inter-company balances. This position offers a great opportunity to engage with various internal and external stakeholders and contribute significantly to the financial processes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare UK management accounts and analyse variances.
  • Prepare budget and forecast information for UK costs and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
  • Conduct month-end reporting, including enrichment and continuity schedules.
  • Prepare journals and reconcile IFRS 16 lease accounting entries.
  • Maintain UK intercompany loans and issue monthly loan summaries.
  • Assist with the monthly inter-company reconciliation process.
  • Support the preparation of annual corporation tax packs for 18 statutory companies.
  • Prepare analysis and reports for Tax, Treasury, and Sector Finance departments.
  • Analyse and submit related party transactions.
  • Prepare data for the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
  • Support the Assistant Accountant in their day-to-day activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified in a recognised professional accountancy qualification.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including use and set-up of Pivot tables and formulas.
  • Experience with an accounting software package, ideally Oracle.
  • Sound analytical skills and organised work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
