Financial Accountant

Location: LeicesterContract: 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Possible extension to 12 months)Working Pattern: Site based for first 3 months (4/1 after probation complete)

Are you an immediately available (or within 1 month notice) Financial Accountant looking for your next challenge? RattrayParkin is partnering with a leading business in Leicester to appoint a Financial Accountant on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

This role will be managing and overseeing a group of two businesses including being responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts and ensuring that cash management and financial controls are in place and that financial processes and procedures are followed.

What will you be doing?

• Responsible for preparing and collating the management accounts timetable and the management accounts pack and group reporting ensuring that timelines are adhered to.

• Maintaining and managing the internal monthly finance task list when required and ensure that the finance team follow approved internal processes.

• Managing, coaching and leading the transactional team to deliver on the responsibilities and the goals and objectives of the Finance teams ensuring workload is distributed equally.

• Operating as the lead point of contact for tax and audit queries for both businesses.

• Preparing where appropriate and review extensively monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Must understand and flag up any risk/rewards to the Group FC / CFO.

• Working alongside the Group Financial Controller identifying areas of process improvement, cost reduction and overall effectiveness and efficiency of the function.

• Preparing where appropriate and review of quarterly VAT returns, Plastic Packaging Tax and any other statutory submissions as required.

• Overseeing all payments and receipts and manage the day-to-day cashflows of both business ensuring that all processes and controls are adhered to. This process includes preparing the 26-week cashflow projections and completing internal checks on all payments raised on the banking system.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Financial Accountant
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
QBE, Part-qualified or Qualified
