Job Description:We are currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a dynamic team in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified financial professional to take ownership of the financial operations for a key business division on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing financial control, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and improving financial processes during the interim period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including financial reporting, management accounting, and treasury functions.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and guidance to senior management, highlighting key variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and develop a small team of finance professionals, fostering collaboration and maintaining high performance.
  • Drive improvements in financial controls, systems, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including tax and statutory requirements.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects as required, including system implementations and audits.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller, ideally in an interim capacity.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of UK financial regulations.
  • Experience in managing a finance team and mentoring junior staff.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in Excel and experience with financial software systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing business needs.
