Internal Auditor

Our client is looking for someone to join their Technical Department as an Internal Auditor, where you will use your technical knowledge and management experience to develop high-performing teams and ensure the integrity of our food safety quality management system. This role is crucial in maintaining our compliance with food safety, legality, and BRC standards to prevent product withdrawals and legal infringements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Continually review and audit documentation for all Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and traceability ensuring all CCP's operators are competent and up to date on methodology.
  • Conduct gap analysis of the Food Safety Quality Management System (FSQM) and follow up on non-conformances.
  • Perform internal auditing of all prerequisites, including pest control, glass and plastic, and metal detection.
  • Carry out Quality Auditing - Annual full quality audit against current BRC requirements and monthly GMP audits.
  • Monitor complaints from customers and suppliers, keeping the complaints database up to date.
  • Manage supplier approval systems and raw material risks database.
  • Act as a role model and lead the team by example, demonstrating high standards and professionalism at all times.
  • Work flexibly to support all areas of the business where required to ensure service levels are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant systems.
  • Ability to influence others to adhere to correct procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret written and numerical data.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of identifying and implementing technical improvements.
  • Trained in Food Safety and Health and Safety.
  • Experience in Quality Control.
  • Understanding of product allergens.
  • Experienced as an internal auditor.
  • Ability to assist with BRC and customer audits.
