RP Recruitment Group are partnering with a high growth SME manufacturing group to appoint a Management Accountant. We are seeking a dynamic part-qualified accountant to oversee a newly acquired £2m turnover SME taking ownership of end-to-end accounting processes for this business. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive finance professional to gain hands-on experience in a broad role, working closely with senior management to support business growth.
The role is full time, permanent and office based in Oadby, Leicestershire with occasional travel to Scotland once per month. After the successful candidate has settled there is scope for this to be reduced to once per quarter.
Key Responsibilities- Ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
- Bookkeeping - maintain accurate ledgers, perform bank reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable/receivable.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts, cash flow management, and budgeting.
- VAT Returns
- Provide insights to improve financial performance and efficiency.
- Identify and implement improvements in finance systems and procedures.
- Assist with audits, liaising with external accountants as required.
- AAT qualified or Part-Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with ongoing study support available.
- End-to-End Accounting Experience within an SME environment.
- Knowledge of management accounts, reconciliations, and statutory requirements.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Good communication skills and a commercial mindset.
