Senior Accountant

About the RoleButler Rose is recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and delivering top-quality service.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in reviewing and reporting on account performance, conducting regular client meetings, and contributing to business development efforts. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff and ensuring best practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of mixed clients, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Overseeing WIP and debtor management to achieve key performance targets.
  • Supporting senior leadership with ad hoc projects.
  • Developing and mentoring junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

About You:We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience) with significant experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
  • Previous experience in client account management and business development.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems (experience with Iris software is an advantage).
  • Organised, flexible, and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to travel to other regional offices as required.
