We are currently working with a Local Authority based in the East Midlands who are recruiting for an Admin Assistant to provide efficient clerical, typing, and database support for Children and Family Services, serving as a key contact for the public, staff, elected members, and partner agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry, database management, and document processing
  • Typing reports, correspondence, and maintaining filing systems
  • Diary management, scheduling meetings, and booking rooms
  • Handling calls, emails, and liaising with internal teams and external partners
  • Organising and administering service/training events, including minute-taking
  • Ordering office supplies and IT equipment via procurement systems
  • Processing invoices, petty cash, and maintaining financial records
  • Collating and recording statistical information for reports and compliance
  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations

Requirements:

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy
  • Word processing (or equivalent)
  • Experience of recent clerical, typing and database experience in an office environment
  • Experience of numeracy, literacy and excel skills with other IT skills
  • Experience of using a range of software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Working as part of a team
  • Production of word-processed reports and correspondence
  • Experience of filing and record systems
  • Full understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience of working in a large organisation
