A long standing, regional accountancy practice based in Leicester require a Bookkeeper to facilitate growth in their client portfolio with varying levels of turnover through a wide range of industries.

The Bookkeeper will service their own portfolio of clients, ensuring that invoices, payments and receipts are in order to complete statutory accounts. This all-encompassing role will also provide exposure to banking, VAT returns, payroll and self-assessment tax returns.

The practice has a supportive and a vibrant team culture. The office has a real family feel, with the team participating in regular social events and as well as that support charities with fundraising initiatives which are chosen by the team. They genuinely care about its people and community.

This would be ideal for a finance professional from either practice or industry, that has solid working knowledge of bookkeeping and managing day-to-day accounts and transactional streams.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day bookkeeping for clients from various transactional streams
  • Assist in month and year end procedures including banking
  • Prepare, review and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC
  • Analysis of debtors and creditors reconciliation

Requirements:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience from within an accountancy practice or from within an accounts function in industry
  • Confident in all aspect of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and VAT
  • Practical working knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero or Sage
  • The capability to prioritise tasks, organise workload and accurately meet regular deadlines
