An exceptionally successful and profitable family held business are succession planning with the appointment of a proven, successful sales professional with a passion for the building products market. The appointment will be ideal for a Sales Manager wishing to be part of the leadership team, alongside the Managing Director and owner. In summary, you will own the existing established and develop emerging markets that are already proving to be exciting to merchants across the UK of their high-quality building products to maximise profitable sales growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage relationships with key decision-makers at merchant companies.
  • Manage key accounts.
  • Alongside the MD and FD, identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the emerging market segments.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals, exceeding sales targets.
  • Provide in-depth product knowledge and support to merchants and their customers.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for new products and emerging market segments.

You're the perfect candidate if you have:

  • A proven track record of success in B2B sales, ideally within the building materials or merchant channel and at some stage in the career experience within an owner managed setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building products and their applications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative enthusiastic team.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • A target-oriented and results-driven approach.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
