Panoramic Associates is excited to be partnering with Leicester City Council to find their next Chief Accountant to join them permanently. This is an amazing opportunity to work in the biggest city in the East Midlands and play a key role in improving the lives of 366,000 people who call Leicester home.

This is an interesting opening to join a close-knit finance team with great development opportunities for future career progression or for someone looking to take that next step in their Public Sector finance career. They are looking for a fully Qualified Accountant with a Technical eye, who has experience working within a Local Authority.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with 2 days a week on-site requirement. The successful candidate will join a supportive Finance department working closely with the Heads of Finance and directors to deliver strong and efficient corporate and operational financial management for the Council.

Main Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for overseeing the council's budget monitoring, accounting processes, and the accurate maintenance of financial records.
• Effectively manage and lead a team responsible for preparing financial accounts and corporate budget monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with the council's financial procedure rules and manage the financial aspects of the constitution.

An Ideal candidate will have:

• Fully Qualified Accountant (CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Vast Post-Qualification Public Sector Experience.
• Successfully proven Line Management experience.
