2 hours initially this would be in the morning. Either 8 to 10am or 9am to 11am but as the role becomes more established this could be flexible
Overall Purpose of this Post:
To maintain a safe, clean, high quality environment for pupils, staff and visitors in allocated Special Needs Teaching Service sites.
Major Objectives:
In addition to the job-specific objectives itemised below all employees are required to implement and promote the Council's policies and procedures relating to all areas of employment and service delivery.
- To ensure that there is adequate security at allocated SNTS sites and facilities.
- To ensure that the allocated SNTS buildings and facilities are kept to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
- To ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance are progressed and carried out.
- To ensure outside areas are kept safe, clean and tidy.

- Supervises staff and completes relevant paperwork.
- Ensures the maintenance and security of premises within area of responsibility including carrying out routine maintenance and inspections as required.
- Ensures continued awareness and implementation of Health & Safety legislation.
- Checks work carried out by contractors and report to Head of Service.
- Implements all agreed energy conservations policies as required by Deputy Head of Service / Teacher in Charge.
- Carries out treatment and testing of spa pool at Parkfield Nursery.
- Receives and transports educational/cleaning/stationary deliveries to relevant store areas.
- Training & Education
Able to recognise the importance of health and safety issues relating to equipment, chemicals and working practices. Training in COSHH
- Experience General experience of the work required or related practical skills.
Experience of supervising staff Proficiency in at least one of the following areas: Joinery, painting/decorating or plumbing Enjoyment of work related pursuits (e.g., DIY) Good basic numeracy. Must have good literacy, reading & writing, skills

Ability to travel to place of work within a reasonable time at various hours of the day and night. Willingness to work outside normal hours including regular letting and weekend boiler duties. Physically fit with good health and attendance record. Ability to work above ground level on appropriate equipment (steps and ladders).
