As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering safe, efficient, and innovative energy infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and advising on commissioning philosophies and strategies

Supporting and sometimes leading design development from concept to completion

Attending and contributing to Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FATs / SATs) and Field Process Safety Assessments (FPSAs)

On-site support during commissioning and initial operation phases

Ensuring compliance with high-pressure systems and relevant industry standards
You’ll be at the forefront of industry-defining projects, including:

Project Union – repurposing parts of the National Gas Transmission system to carry 100% hydrogen

Project Acorn – supporting the SCO2T Connect initiative for high-pressure CO2 pipeline transport and Carbon Capture & Storage under the North Sea

Active involvement in National Gas’s RIIO2, RIIO3, and development of the RIIO4 business plan (2021–2036) – with guaranteed pipeline of work

Proven experience commissioning high-pressure gas systems, process plants, or similar

Ability to write and advise on commissioning philosophies, procedures, and testing documents

Experience with FPSAs, FATs, and safety-critical assessments

A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to engage confidently across engineering, operations, and client teams
