This client are looking for an experienced surveyor who can help deliver a positive and engaged customer experience, which is compliant with statutory and regulatory bodies requirements. You will be involved in compliance and property related inspections.

They are a well established housing association working across the Midlands providing a wide range of services across the social housing industry.

Description

Your key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Planning and managing capital investment projects
  • Ensuring building health and safety compliance, with expertise in fire safety, lifting equipment, water systems, and regulations concerning gas, electrical, and asbestos.
  • Conducting stock condition assessments
  • Overseeing activities related to energy efficiency improvements
  • Managing Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Decent Homes standards work
  • Performing risk assessments
  • Carrying out post-inspection tasks, such as reviewing passive fire protection measures
  • Collaborating closely with specialised consultants
  • Conducting fire audits in coordination with fire authorities to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Participating in new developments, including fire strategy planning and project handovers

Profile

The ideal person for this role will:

  • Proven experience in drawing up specifications, progressing works orders, and preparing contract documents for planned, reactive, and compliance projects.
  • Skilled in providing accurate cost estimates for projects and managing project/contract budgets, with a focus on efficiency and value for money.
  • Strong background in liaising with contractors and suppliers, with effective contract management and administration skills.
  • Prioritises health and safety, conducting scheme, COSE, and risk assessments, and ensuring full compliance with regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Holds a HND or similar relevant qualification; able to travel regularly across the East Midlands and attend head office meetings.
  • Strong IT skills, with responsibility for updating the core asset management database, producing reports, tracking KPIs, and managing jobs through the job management system.
