General Practice Chartered Surveyor

The Council is currently seeking a highly experienced General Practice Chartered Surveyor to join their Strategic Property Services as an Asset Management Business Partner. This role is crucial for acting as the property business partner for Children and Family Services, ensuring compliance with the Corporate Landlord model and supporting broader council projects.

Job Purpose:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development of strategy and plans for Client Departments, driving property initiatives from business case development to project delivery.
  • Asset Management: Oversee the management of assets to support service areas and drive strategic management of the Council’s property assets in collaboration with corporate stakeholders and external partners.
  • Project Delivery: Responsible for commissioning and ensuring the delivery of projects to completion, maintaining a proactive, commercial approach to achieve value for money.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Land Management/Surveying, Construction, Building Strategy, or related fields.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent professional body.
  • Extensive experience in strategic asset management, particularly within local government.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement complex capital and revenue-based programmes.
  • Experience in the acquisition, disposal, and development of property assets.

Skills:

  • Strong relationship management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Competence in financial management and ICT software including MS Office suite.
