Job Title:Â CNC Miller Setter Operator
Shift: Day shift, 39 hours per week, flexible hours
Rate: £15 - £17 p/h
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Miller Setter Operator with expertise in Fanuc controls to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting and operating CNC milling machines, as well as experience working with mould making machines and spark erosion. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing company in a key technical role.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Milling:
- Set, operate, and maintain CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls to produce precision components.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining of parts.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality output.
- Perform quality checks on finished products using measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Mould Making Machines:
- Operate mould making machines to produce components for casting, injection moulding, or other manufacturing processes.
- Work with other departments to ensure moulds meet design specifications and quality standards.
Spark Erosion (EDM):
- Operate spark erosion (EDM) machines to produce high-precision components and moulds.
- Set up and adjust EDM machines to meet part requirements, ensuring minimal material waste and precision finishes.
Tool and Machine Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance on CNC milling, mould making, and spark erosion machines to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine faults, arranging repairs where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate:Â
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter Operator, with specific experience in Fanuc controls. (Hurco and Heidenhain controls are also used)
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with mould making machines and spark erosion (EDM) machines is a benefit but TRAINING IS AVAILABLE.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of precision machining techniques and measurement tools.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC milling machines, ensuring parts meet design specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
