Our Client:
An established engineering company in the Leicestershire area are looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Setter/Operator/Programmer to join their dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes to produce high-quality precision parts. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC turning programming and the ability to work with tight tolerances.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Program CNC lathes using Fanuc Control Programmes
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools and fixtures
- Monitor the machining process to ensure quality and make necessary adjustments
- Inspect finished parts to verify conformance to quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and workflow
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC lathe setter/operator/programmer
- Proficiency in CNC turning programming
- Experience with Leadwell
- Experience with Mori Seki and Lynx Machines is desirable
- In-depth knowledge of machining processes and cutting tool selection
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Certification in CNC machining or related field is desirable
Day-to-day:
- Set up CNC lathes for production runs
- Program CNC lathes to produce parts with precision and accuracy
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize production workflow
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and conformance to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement
