We are currently recruiting a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of a manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Leicester.
This key role is working with senior management to improve and maintain all H&S and Environmental activities on site.
Main Duties:
- To promote and work with managers in determining safe working practices, ensuring that all service areas have suitable and sufficient risk assessments for their operations
- To maintain up to date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements, relating to health and safety issues
- Undertake planned health and safety audits and workplace inspections
- Carry out investigations of all incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence
- Liaise closely with the HR team and Managers regarding matters of concern and take appropriate action
- Ensure general administration of the Health and Safety service is carried out in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification
- Management or leadership qualification preferred
- PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification preferred
- Ideally 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
