Telephone Advice Line (Hotline) Officer
Homebased
Salary band from £61,968 (£24,787 pro rata)
Part time (0.4 FTE, 2 days/week)
The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) is the leading professional association and trade union for all school and college leaders. We are proud to support and represent more than 25,000 members throughout the UK in primary, secondary and post-16 education who lead their schools and colleges to help to shape the future of the national education system and provide high quality professional development opportunities.
Due to a recent promotion and also retirement, ASCL is seeking to appoint two part-time members of staff to our well-regarded Hotline team. The post would suit candidates with extensive school or college leadership experience within the last 24 months.
As a Hotline Officer, you would be responsible for answering telephone enquiries to give members advice on a broad range of issues and offering initial support and guidance for more complex matters. Members work from home with IT equipment provided and may live anywhere in the UK. There is regular contact with ASCL HQ in Leicester and occasional attendance at other locations across the UK to attend training sessions. Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses are covered.
The roles are paid on a five-point incremental range from £61,968 (£24,787) to £68,259 (£27,304) per annum (pro rata 0.4). The current vacancy is for a 0.4 part time post, home based and usually worked as two full days per week. Equipment is provided. Officers work to an agreed pattern although flexibility over days worked is required.
ASCL is an equal opportunities employer and offers a very generous package of benefits, including 33 days holiday (13 days pro rata) plus bank holidays and a pension scheme to which the association contributes 9%. Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses are also covered, including a working from home allowance. We encourage applications regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
