Data Engineer (Contract)
We have a requirement for a Data Engineer to join our client based in Leicester on an initial 4-month contract. My client is a Financial Services company, who specialise in Pension Solutions.
Details:
- Data Engineer (Data Warehouse)
- 4 months (initial contract)
- Hybrid Remote (Leicester)
- £400/day (Outside IR35)
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver robust ETL processes for the data warehouse (currently in SSIS).
- Maintain and improve existing ETL processes, optimizing for automation, data quality, robustness, and clear logging.
- Maintain technical documentation for the ETL & warehousing solution.
- Conduct code reviews, pair program, and share knowledge with other team members.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of SQL Server databases to ensure efficiency and reliability of the data warehouse.
Krey Skills / Experience:
- Proficiency in data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing principles, with a strong understanding of database management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL (preferably T-SQL) and 3+ years' experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Experience with cloud services (Azure) and understanding of cloud-native data services.
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server databases.
