Danaher & Walsh is a long-established civil engineering contractor operating across the Midlands, East Anglia and Lincolnshire, which is experiencing ongoing growth. Due to this increased level of business, an opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Assistant working on our contract with Anglian Water.
What will you be doing as our new Commercial Assistant?
You'll assist with the provision of transparent, accurate and timely commercial cost reporting whilst ensuring costs are controlled to maximise value and minimising future liabilities.
Furthermore, you'll work collaboratively within other programme areas within the Embedded Alliance where appropriate to provide commercial support by fostering close working relationships with all key stakeholders including the wider Commercial Team.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the provision of accurate cost reporting and forecasting to mitigate adverse financial impacts
- Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with commercial reporting and ensuring the reporting information is accurate, meaningful and timely
- Assist with the assurance of accurate and timely reporting of defined cost and forecast cost to complete to inform the Alliance Programme Pool position (current and forecast positions)
- Support the financial close of cost systems within both the partner and employers cost systems (working closely with financial stakeholders where necessary), to minimise and mitigate disallowed cost exposure
- Identify cost reduction and avoidance opportunities whilst providing support to help the Senior Quantity Surveyor in associated realisation of these efficiencies
- Support the development and embedding of alliance business plans, with supporting commercial data analysis, where required
A little bit about your skills and behaviours
To join us on the IMR WRA's quest for commercial excellence, you'll have a passion and flair for turning large sets of complex data into meaningful plans of actions to a range of audiences. Awareness of NEC3 forms of contract and relevant construction and contract law along with experience of using SAP would be advantageous, but not essential.
With a strong ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload so that targets and deadlines are met to ensure efficient and effective support to all teams, you'll enjoy collaborating with different teams and have a customer- centric outlook to deliver the best service.
