Job Role: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Leicester
Shift: Monday - Friday (8:15am-5pm), 1pm finish on Friday'sSalary: £35,000- 50,000 per annum (based on experience)
Overview:
Optima UK are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company, for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join the engineering team in their industrial equipment division. In this essential role, you will assist in designing electrical systems for industrial applications. Key responsibilities will include applying electrical best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and working closely with the design team to develop creative solutions. The ideal candidate will have practical design experience, a strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts, and some familiarity with mechanical design principles.
Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Review design requirements and create design calculations and production documentation.
- Apply relevant design, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Create electrical wiring diagrams and component layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Review and approve design information from team members.
- Oversee CE marking process for new designs and conduct DFMEAs.
- Contribute to research, development, and product testing.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
The Candidate:
- Several years of electrical design experience, ideally with some machinery design exposure.
- Degree-qualified in electrical engineering.
- Proficient in designing according to IEC standards.
- High proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical required.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or Siemens is a plus.
