Our client, a leading provider in the controls and automation sector, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Controls Engineer to join their team in Leicester. Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the design, programming, and testing of control systems for automation projects.
- Support the development and modification of control system software (PLC, SCADA, HMI).
- Work on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to control systems and electrical equipment.
- Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of control systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop system architectures and integration solutions.
- Participate in the creation of technical documentation and reports for projects.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that project timelines and specifications are met.
- Continuously improve your knowledge of controls engineering, automation technologies, and industry best practices.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with control systems design, programming (PLC, SCADA, HMI), and automation processes.
- Basic understanding of industrial control equipment and communication protocols.
- Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with CAD tools for electrical and control system design (AutoCAD, EPLAN, etc.) is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients and team members effectively.
- Motivated and eager to learn and develop skills in a growing industry.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in automation and controls.
