The successful Solar Project Engineer can be home based and will report directly to the Head of Projects. (Ideal location will be someone who is Midlands based i.e. is able to go North/South/East & West to cover the UK)

This role will suit someone with project management qualifications and/or experience on commercial Solar PV Installations AC/DC. You will need to demonstrate tangible examples where you have operated within the five stages of a project: project initiation, project planning, project execution, monitoring & control andproject closing. The successful candidate will need to be ambitious and will want to establish yourself as a key member of the project team and a go to specialist in the business for PV Technical package works, be capable of working under your own initiative and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities (Experience/Qualifications):

  • Ensuring a Robust Hand-Over from Sales / Design (Technically Astute).
  • Managing the Client & Sub-Contractors (Relationship Person)
  • Health Safety & the Environment (NEBOSH/SMSTS/SSSTS & CSCS Card Holder)
  • Risk Management (RA & Permit to Work Training)
  • Compliance to Internal & External Processes, Legislation, Regulation and the Law.
  • Project Execution (Prince2 / APNP)

Personal Attributes/Professional Experience required

  • You will either have experience of electrical and solar PV installation on large domestic or commercial projects, surveying, project delivery
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC and voltage drops (No requirement to be a qualified electrician, just a good understanding will suffice)
  • You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of taking a project from design stage and specification through to delivery and hand over, so a good understanding of working within processes and to technical documentation.
  • Technically minded with a full understanding of Solar Photovoltaics

Remuneration:

  • Salary - £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
  • Home Based with site visits required
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Mileage allowance for site visits (Own vehicle required) 2-3 days per week (Max)
