As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects through accurate and competitive estimations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Cost Estimation: Preparing detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, and overheads.
- Tendering & Bidding: Leading the preparation of tender submissions and pricing schedules in collaboration with the bid team.
- Value Engineering: Suggesting cost-effective alternatives while maintaining design integrity and quality.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Procuring and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best value.
- Risk Assessment: Identifying and mitigating potential cost risks.
- Cost Control: Monitoring project budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Client Relations: Building strong relationships to align cost estimates and changes with client expectations.
- Reporting: Preparing accurate reports on estimates, tenders, and budgets.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, ideally on key projects.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with estimating tools such as Causeway, CostX, or similar.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with the ability to address cost-related challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively liaise with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Certifications: Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is a plus.
