Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Our engineers dedicated to Naval are involved in solving exciting challenges through leading the development and delivery of the engineering aspects of our projects. Projects that range from designing, de-risking and delivery of new power / propulsion and energy system solutions alongside digital & automation technologies to our UK and international customers both to surface and submarine systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities of the EI&C Engineer will include the following:
  • Developing software principally in LabVIEW and National Instruments Test stand for new test equipment, systems, data acquisition and control systems.
  • Design the overall architecture of the application, ensuring it is maintainable, extensible, reliable and efficient. Integrate the completed parts of the application into one application and validate the system complete with hardware including with the systems under test.
  • Support of existing NI/LabVIEW systems, providing maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and upgrades/development as required.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable experience of software design in the Test & Measurement industry, ideally in high-speed real time applications.
  • Experience of software design process from development of brief through to final validation, commissioning, and in-service support.
  • LabVIEW experience (CLD minimum desirable but professional development is available to the right candidate.) National Instruments TestStand experience would be advantageous.
  • Degree/H.N.D. in Electrical/Software Engineering discipline.

The applicant must be a sole national British citizen and have a valid UK passport and a valid full UK driving licence
