This is a really exciting time to be joining DMU. The People Services team has been through a period of change and we have several new roles available to support advancing our ambitious Empowering University strategy. Role

As a Global Mobility Advisor at De Montfort University, you’ll take a lead role in our People Services response to international and overseas working. Reporting to the Head of People Services Operations, you’ll provide essential guidance and expertise on the complex issues of global mobility, including international tax, social security, and compliance with host-country regulations. This role is integral to our Transnational Education (TNE) strategy, ensuring that DMU’s expanding global presence is supported by safe, compliant, and effective employment practices. You’ll work closely with the University’s International team and new overseas partnerships to coordinate responses to international employment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess overseas working requests for tax and compliance implications, advising on risks and obtaining specialist legal support for complex cases.

• Build networks across the university to ensure international compliance, awareness of global working policies, and employee readiness.

• Collaborate with People Partners, Senior Reward Specialist, Payroll, and Finance to maintain a competitive and compliant international pay structure and change to Collaborate with People Partners, Payroll, International and Finance to maintain a competitive and compliant international pay structure

• Lead the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, and reporting tools to maintain global compliance.

• Drive continuous improvement projects within People Services, and coach and mentor junior colleagues to develop their expertise.

You are knowledgeable in global mobility practices and international compliance with a strong background in employment regulations. You have an eye for detail, a strategic mindset, and the ability to communicate complex compliance requirements clearly. You’re proactive, building collaborative relationships across teams while maintaining high standards in compliance and employee support.
