Sitting on the Management Team of a global broker’s regional office that is enjoying a sustained period of growth, this is a highly visible role, where your successes will be clearly evident to all. Accordingly, you will benefit from a myriad of opportunities for progression - indeed, this role has come about due to the former Client Service Leader being promoted into the Branch Managing Director.
Here, you will be responsible for providing a high level of support to the MD in the smooth running of the branch. This includes managing a team of circa 10 Corporate Account Executives, 6 of whom are direct reports. These Account Executives each look after a portfolio of up to circa £500,000 brokerage, with clients being from a variety of industry sectors and with individual cases generating fees anywhere between £10,000 and £120,000.
This includes holding 1-2-1’s to ensure that your team is engaged with the company’s objectives, and progressing in-line with their own ambitions. You will promote a culture of structured client and prospect engagement. This includes analysing MI to ensure colleagues are managing their pipeline effectively to secure new business, as well as making sure they remain alert to opportunities to grow existing accounts through the cross and up-selling of ancillary covers and services.
You will also be responsible for managing your own portfolio of corporate clients that generates income of circa £300,000, from such sectors as Transportation, Manufacturing and Retail. It is worth noting that whilst this role does major on driving department growth, there are no personal sales targets and your focus is on the management of existing accounts rather than developing your own portfolio.
In addition, as a senior member of the team, you will help to set the future strategy of the branch and be involved in a number of exciting projects.
It is essential that you have some management experience, and can demonstrate excellent leadership skills together with the ability to secure 'buy in’ from an established and high-performing team of Account Executives.
You must also have a sound understanding of commercial insurance, including knowledge of all common commercial covers and the requirements of clients from a variety of sectors, both blue and white-collar.
This dynamic firm is a big advocate of flexible-working, but as you are responsible for managing a large number of colleagues, it is anticipated that you will be in the office 2-3 days per week, depending on if you are seeing clients.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary and a comprehensive, flexible-benefits package that can be tweaked to your own personal circumstances. Of particular note is a lucrative bonus that is dependent on departmental growth (rather than your own portfolio size).Aston Charles - a personalised service from industry expertsGeneral Insurance and Financial Services RecruitmentFor more jobs like this, or for more information on how we may be able to help you in your search for a new job, please visit our website
