We are currently working on the below opportunity for an Education Finance Manager working with an East Midlands Based L;ocal Authority to lead and enhance financial support for schools and service departments, ensuring strategic decision-making and medium-term financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To identify, interpret and analyse national school funding policy and it’s impact on Leicestershire’s maintained schools and academies
  • To maintain a timetable of national and local key school funding deadlines and activities together with a delivery plan to ensure adherence and maintained school compliance
  • To support and lead the Leicestershire Schools Forum in relation to schools funding matters to ensure its statutory responsibilities are met in accordance with national legislation ensuring the appropriate decisions are made to support Leicestershire’s maintained schools and academies
  • To maintain the Leicestershire Scheme for Financing Schools and ensure that it is compliance with statutory guidance and supports the effective governance and delivery of finance within maintained schools
  • Ensure that school finance issues are appropriately reflected the development of school related strategy, corporate projects and corporate reporting
  • Support the development of management reports and the related systems to improve the links between corporate and school financial information, operational activity and outcomes
  • Support the department in identifying, analysing and implementing options for improving efficiency and/or service delivery outcomes in relation to schools funding

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management or Level 4 Association of Accounting Technician and evidence of participation in CPD
  • Experience of working within an education finance environment and the national financial framework as it applies to maintained schools and academies
