Our client is a ambitious and high growth privately owned SME business of around £15m T/O but with ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years (both organic & acquisition) with strategic planning in mind for future exit)

As a result of the above, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of the companies first full time Finance Director

Joining the executive team, this is a key strategic role within the company with responsibility for building long-term enterprise value, providing insightful, useful financial analysis and reporting, and contributing to both current and long-term business decisions.

You will be working closely with the Board, MD, and other senior people within the company to help guide, support and deliver the companies ambitious growth targets and plans.

Whilst playing a key role in the strategic planning, growth and M&A for the group, candidates will need to remain hands on in the guidance and leadership of a small finance team.

  • Manage and lead the Finance Team made of 1 Qualified and small transactional finance team
  • Be part of the SLT / Executive Team, leading of all things Finance with wider involved in commercial and business operations.
  • Provide accurate, timely management information, evolve current KPI / MI / Metrics to drive business performance
  • Provide forward-looking analysis and recommendations
  • Assist and guide on strategic direction and decisions re financial planning, financing and M&A
  • Custodianship of the company’s financial performance (Commercial, Management and Financial Accounting)
  • Drive up enterprise value in long range preparation for sale.

The ideal candidate will be formally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) and have previous experience gained in a finance leadership position ideally within either a SME or divisional business.

Wider experience of driving growth an improvement to enable scaled growth is required and experience of M&A is key ideally to include both Buy & Sale.

Candidate will need to retain hands on involvement in the leadership and management of the groups financial and management information but have excellent opportunity to have key influence in commercial and strategic matters

Excellent interpersonal / communication skills are essential with the ability to interpret complex information, and present it in simple, easy to understand formats.
