I have been retained by my client to add to this growing UK business, an SME within a global group and as part of that strategic growth they are recruiting a newly created Finance Director role.
As a member of the Leadership Team you will act as a Strategic Business Partner to all departments supporting business growth and the strategic objectives in the short, medium and long term.
Key responsibilities include:
- Professional development, leadership, and support of Finance and other functions
- Establish the subsidiary's operating forecasts, coordinate and integrate the rolling forecast process, preparation of the Company's annual budget and 3-Year forecasting (Mid-Term Planning)
- Manage the Accounting, IT and Customer Support functions.
- Reporting of the economic and financial situation of the company (monthly, quarterly, annual statements etc)
- Preparation of financial reporting as required by the parent company.
- Calculation of the year end provision and preparation of the balance sheet
- Management of cash flow, payments, and customer reminders
- Management of supplier contracts
- Responsibility for managing group-defined risks and compliance.
- Responsibility for company audits: external, internal, insurance
- First point of contact for legal matters
- Ensure the Company is fulfilling its obligations as a limited company in line with regulations.
- Responsibility for the implementation of the requirements of the quality assurance system within scope of responsibility
- Involvement in various projects within the subsidiary.
Professional Requirements/Personal Attributes:
- A professional accounting qualification with CIMA, ACA or ACCA
- A strong academic background, with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or higher
- Proven high-level industry experience in financial operations, demonstrating skills in technical accounting principles
- Evidence of strong communication skills when dealing with other departments and senior stakeholders
- Prior management experience and an understanding of how to lead a team
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, backed by good commercial instincts
- High-level computer literacy and familiarity with the latest financial software systems
