Macildowie Finance are currently exclusively supporting a well-established, recognisable employer brand based in central Leicester to recruit for a Finance Manager. This position is initially on a 6 month FTC basis, but with a view to become a permanent position after the successful completion of the first 6 months.

This role is the ideal position for an all-rounded accountant, who enjoys getting involved in all areas and being in a 'hands on' role.

You will be working closely alongside a supportive and experienced Head of Finance, getting involved and gaining exposure in a fast paced and exciting environment.

This opportunity does offer the possibility of hybrid working, with a maximum of 2 days working from home after the initial training period.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries,
  • Delivery of month end to tight timescales,
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of all back up schedules,
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as sales invoicing, bank reconciliations and other transactions,
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns,
  • Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, accounts receivables, expenses etc.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Finalist or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA) / QBE also considered
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload
