An excellent opportunity for Finance Manager who will be able to hit the ground running and be able to take ownership of your workload whilst developing and supervising the Accounts Assistant, on a daily basis. You will also be working in cohesion with our off-site Company Accountant.

The role:

  • Formulate long-term and strategic financial business plans to include performance reporting and analysis.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting and Finance Department.
  • Analyse, interpret and track the company's financial data.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide reports as necessary/required.
  • Monitor budgeting and forecasting, highlighting any potential issues or opportunities to capitalise on financial growth.
  • Monitor business finances in relation to profit and loss for year on year comparison figures.
  • Lead the analysis of quarterly and annual financial reporting numbers presenting findings and updates to the Senior Leadership Team, at Quarterly and Annual Company Meetings.
  • Seek out areas for minimising financial risks and report any such findings to the Director of Operations in a timely manner.
  • Take immediate remedial action to rectify any errors or anomalies within the financial record keeping.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations with all payroll related matters, with a view to taking over this responsibility within your probationary period.
  • Implement and monitor financial checking of all monetary transactions and reconciliations across the business.
  • Devise, Implement and delegate responsibility of purchase order and general ledger systems.
  • Establish a standard operating procedure to ensure invoices are tracked and paid on time.
  • Follow up outstanding invoices working closely with the Director of Operations on strategic monetary recovery solutions.
  • Ensure reviews and continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices and procedures are carried out.
  • Establish and maintain financial accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Be the first port of contact for members of the accounting team and assist them with delivering on their responsibilities and support their development.
  • Manage your team's attendance, conduct and performance.
  • Carry out appraisals and annual reviews with your team and put in place any additional training or development as required to enhance their understanding of the work that they are expected to do.
  • Lead and develop the skills of the departmental team responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes by conducting weekly team meetings and fortnightly 1-2-1’s to measure their progress.
  • Analyse customer information and trends to safeguard the company's financial position.
  • Assist the company in maintaining realistic, deliverable and profitable financial goals.
  • Be on hand to answer any pay related queries from staff across the business.
  • Ensure that any further qualifications that are required to carry out your duties with the Company are undertaken and your training and financial knowledge is kept up to date.
  • Attend any financial workshops/seminars that are relevant to your position within the UK and engage in relevant networking that may bring fresh perspective to the businesses.

Requirements:

  • CIMA, ACCA and AAT qualifications
  • Possess a flexible approach to your work

  • Have good effective communication skills
