Job Opportunity: Head of Finance (Maternity Cover)Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a strategic leadership role? We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to drive financial strategy, oversee daily operations, and provide critical insights to support business growth. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial stability and success of the organisation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement long-term financial business plans, including performance analysis and reporting.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting and Finance Department.
  • Analyse, interpret, and track the company's financial data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide financial reports and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor budgeting and forecasting, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct year-on-year profit and loss analysis to assess financial performance.
  • Lead quarterly and annual financial reporting, presenting findings to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Identify financial risks and report findings to the Director of Operations.
  • Take immediate corrective actions to rectify errors in financial record-keeping.
  • Oversee payroll operations, with a view to assuming full responsibility within the probationary period.
  • Implement financial checks for transactions and reconciliations across the business.
  • Develop and maintain a robust purchase order and general ledger system.
  • Establish efficient invoice tracking and payment procedures.
  • Lead outstanding invoice recovery strategies alongside the Director of Operations.
  • Continuously review and improve accounting practices and procedures.
  • Maintain and enforce financial accounting policies, methods, and principles.
Strategic & Compliance Duties:
  • Analyse customer trends to safeguard and strengthen the company’s financial position.
  • Assist in setting and achieving realistic, profitable financial goals.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with financial certifications (MBA, CIMA, ACCA, AAT) and make them available for audits.
  • Maintain up-to-date financial knowledge by undertaking further qualifications as required.
  • Attend relevant financial workshops, seminars, and networking events
