Group Finance Director - England Netball & Netball Super League - LoughboroughMacildowie is delighted to be partnering with England Netball (EN) and Netball Super League (NSL)in the appointment of their Group Finance Director. This role will lead the Finance & Risk functions across the group and will be based at the Sports Park in Loughborough (LE11 3QF).OrganisationEngland Netball is the national governing body for one of England's biggest female team sports, netball. They are a not for profit, customer focussed sport business aiming to "lead a movement on and beyond the court" and are responsible for the strategic plan of sport across the country.A key factor in realising EN's ambitions is to professionalise the sport. As Netball continues to grow at pace with more people taking to court than ever before, EN has taken the first step in realising this ambition with the relaunch of the Netball Super League in 2025.Despite being a not-for-profit they would welcome those with a commercial background due to the nature of the group role and those with a blend of public/ not for profit and commercial experience would be most desirable.Finance Director RemitReporting into their CEO you will be leading the Finance and Risk teams and have group responsibility for both EN and its subsidiaries, including the new NSL entity that was set up in 2024 to operate the league from 2025.They are looking for an individual who wants a commercial outward facing finance leadership role, has some interest in sport (doesn't have to be within Netball) who will be joining an executive team who is passionate about the cause. The NSL will have similarities to supporting multiple franchised sports clubs so commerciality will be key to success within this role. The successful individual will be comfortable operating at an executive/ board level, engaging with external funding bodies, including Sport England and can identify new opportunities and long term diversification of their income alongside their existing merchandising, ticketing and broadcasting.Benefits- Competitive salary dependant on experience- Exec bonus- Hybrid working - 2-3 days per week on site - the opportunity to be on site fully if this was wantedMinimum Requirements- Fully qualified accountant and current member of CIMA, ACCA or ACA- Dynamic leader who isn't just technically strong but has a significant track record of finance leadership and the ability to influence a medium sized team (responsibility for c15 FTE within this post)- Experience of a strategic finance leadership role (Finance Director or CFO) with multiple years' experience of strategic planning and board level responsibilities- Demonstrable commercial experience, either within a private sector setting or overseeing commercial subsidiaries- Substantial experience of budget preparation, scenario planning and financial forecasting linked to the delivery of long term organisational strategyDesirable (but not essential)- Experience working at a senior level within both public/ not for profit and commercial sectors- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams outside of Finance (e.g. HR, IT, Governance, Risk and Operations)- Group Finance experience- Grants experienceTimetableClosing date 5pm Thursday 12th December 2024Short list Review Monday 16th December 20241st Stage Virtual Interview w/c 16th December 20242nd Stage Panel Interview w/c 6th January 2025If you meet all of the requirements and are open to finding out more then please apply now and Peter Newman who is exclusively managing this vacancy will be in touch.
