About the Head of Corporate Financial Services role:

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be partnered with a Public Sector on a permanent vacancy within their Financial Services team.

My client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Corporate Financial Services to provide high-level leadership across a broad corporate portfolio. This is a key role with responsibility for ensuring strong financial management, compliance, and the delivery of efficient support services across the organisation.

The Responsibilities of the Head of Corporate Financial Services role will be:

  • Provide strategic financial advice and ensure compliance with all statutory responsibilities under the Local Government Finance Act 1988 and subsequent legislation
  • Lead and oversee Procurement, ensuring the development of effective strategies and adherence to legislation and best practices
  • Provide strategic leadership for the ICT department, setting direction and ensuring robust service delivery
  • Oversee Fleet & Equipment and Estates functions, providing clear leadership and ensuring timely reporting to senior management
  • Act as Pensions Scheme Manager, ensuring governance and compliance across all applicable schemes
  • Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team, driving service improvement, transformation, and value for money across the organisation.

The Ideal candidate for the Head of Corporate Financial Servicesrole will have:

  • CCAB qualified or similar (Essential)
  • Local Authority experience (Essential)
  • Experience in a senior financial management position
  • Extensive experience of budget setting and management in a complex organisation
  • Experience of leading and managing a multi-functional teams including service improvement, performance management and career
  • development
  • Experience of leading and managing a number of departments through change
  • Strong stakeholder management at internal and external level.
