Leicester (Office Based)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to join a rapidly growing organisation with massive expansion plans. You will be the number 1 in Finance reporting directly into the MD with full responsibility over the finance function. This pivotal role involves strategic financial planning, management of the finance team, and overseeing all financial functions including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping financial policies and ensuring the financial health of the organisation. This is a hands on role and you will be involved in the day to day accounting. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Engage in long-term financial forecasting, support new funding agreements, and participate in strategic planning to align financial management with company goals.
  • Team Management: Lead the Accounts team, providing support and resources necessary for their professional development. Conduct regular reviews and ensure continuity during absences.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee the accounts receivable and payable functions, ensure accurate invoicing and receipt processing, and manage payroll and pension schemes efficiently.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare financial statements, manage month-end close processes, and produce timely management reports. Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators to assess business performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop financial plans and budgets, continually update forecasts to reflect the business dynamics, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Controls and Audits: Design and review financial policies and procedures, ensure robust internal controls are in place, and manage audit processes effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • ACA, ACCA OR CIMA Qualified
  • Proven experience managing the finances of an established company
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience with large Fixed Assets and exposure to managing banking relationships.
