NET Recruit are partnering with a highly successful property business to assist them on their search for a Head of Finance in the Leicester area.Your RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing the bank accounts, to ensure that income and payments are valid and formulating weekly bank balance summaries for directors
  • Maintaining controls over online banking services, including authorising payment approvers, payment limits and ensuring payments are being approved on the banking software
  • Making sure that bank funding requirements are met via compliance reports produced quarterly
  • Handling all aspects of invoicing, including approving purchase invoices, sending customer invoices for commercial properties and entering these onto the system, as well as entering receipts, allocating these against raised invoices
  • Overseeing the development of the financial system, to ensure it meets the growing needs of the business, alongside setting up new companies and codes onto the system and also reconciling all bank accounts onto the system monthly
  • Submitting company accounts, submitting information and accounts to external auditors, paying HMRC for corporation tax, alongside all other data required by HMRC
  • Supporting the delivery of the management accounts, reviewing VAT returns and the entering of journals onto the system
  • Overseeing the payroll function including setting up new employees on the system, ensuring all necessary documentation for each employee is received and updating the payroll software with all and any changes within the set deadlines
  • Making sure the amounts being paid to employees on the system match on the banking software
  • Heading up the accounts team, providing resources and support for team development as well as handling 1:1's and reviews
This list of duties is by no means exhaustive, and the job remit will include other duties as needed.You MUST HavePlease apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • A fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience within a senior finance/financial leadership position
  • Strong technical knowledge of areas such as payroll, invoicing, legal compliance and systems management
  • Previous experience working within an 'owner managed' business
  • Exposure to the property/real estate/housing sector
  • Effective people management skills and experience
  • Exquisite communication abilities
  • Excellent IT competencies, including Microsoft Office, Sage and other accounting/banking software
