Butler Rose is working exclusively with a well-established, highly respected accountancy practice based in Leicester, who are looking to appoint a Technical Accounts Manager to join their growing Accounting and Assurance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with strong technical expertise to join a firm that offers a supportive environment and a diverse client base.

The Role:This is primarily a technically focused accounting role, responsible for reviewing complex accounts and supporting the audit team. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation and technical review of statutory accounts for medium and small limited companies (FRS 102 and FRS 102 1A)
• Preparation of consolidated financial statements under FRS 102
• Advising the audit team on technical aspects from planning through to completion
• Corporation Tax computations and returns (Alphatax and IRIS Business Tax)
• Self-Assessment tax returns
• Management accounts preparation and charity accounts support
• Reviewing accounts prepared by colleagues to ensure compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards
• Researching complex technical queries and supporting implementation of solutions
• Supporting colleagues with training and technical advice
• Assisting with projects such as cash flow forecasts and due diligence
• Staying up to date with changes in accounting standards and legislation

About You:

• Wealth of experience across compliance and advisory work for varied businesses
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (FRS 102, FRS 102 1A, FRS 105)
• Comfortable with consolidations, cash flow statements, and technical reviews
• Excellent communication skills - confident in discussing complex matters with clients and colleagues
• Organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Proactive approach to solving problems and improving systems
• Experience with accounting software like Sage, Xero, SAP is advantageous
• A natural mentor and team player
