Our client is looking for the support of an experienced Transport Officer to join their Schools Transport Team on an interim basis.
Successful candidates will need to attend the office on their first day for an induction and to collect IT equipment. On-site training will also be provided during the first few weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and review school transport for secondary schools, covering around 4,500 pupils across 50 schools
- Plan and review school transport for primary schools, covering around 650 pupils across 70 schools
- Ensure all pupils are correctly allocated to transport contracts
- Work with the Customer Service Centre to manage school bus pass printing
- Set up and negotiate annual season ticket prices and contracts with local bus service providers
- Monitor and respond to communications from stakeholders, including schools, operators, and parents
- Allocate pupils who qualify for transport following assessments
- Assist in the procurement of replacement contracts using BB4 DPS with ProContract and issue contract award documentation
- Process primary school transport requests from parents of eligible pupils
- Issue and manage parent contracts where applicable
- Ensure school and operator transport packages are issued before the start of the academic year
Key requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry is essential
- Experience in the transport sector is highly beneficial
