We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Estimator to join our clients growing Commercial and Estimating team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate project estimates, collaborating closely with the project team and ensuring that high-quality standards are upheld throughout the process.
Ideally you will come with expertise in Joinery and shopfitting. Working for a leader in its field working alongside some of the UK’s most reputable designers, architects and contractors, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to contribute to large-scale projects while advancing their professional development with access to company formal training.
Job Role
- Review project plans, drawings and specifications to understand the joinery requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labour, and overheads.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify specifications and requirements.
- Analyse tender documents and ensure compliance with bid requirements.
- Track and report changes to project scope and provide cost implications.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to obtain favourable pricing.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids while adhering to deadlines.
- Participate in site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, materials, and pricing.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as an estimator in the joinery or construction industry.
- Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of joinery processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant degree or certification in construction management, estimating, or a related field is preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
