MIS Officer (Contract - Leicester)

Our Educational sector client is currently looking for an MIS Officer to support the organisation on a contract basis. This is an onsite position based in Leicester and will require a current or recent Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain student records in the required format.
  • Oversee and update course files, including course details, group assignments, and associated registers.
  • Develop and enhance a portfolio of core and ad-hoc reports, ensuring accurate, timely management information for Governors, staff, students, and external agencies.
  • Conduct regular data integrity checks, track changes, and ensure data accuracy to meet audit standards.
  • Produce a compliant Individualised Learner Record (ILR) aligned with current specifications and collection timelines.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the College's funding regulations and provide timely advice on changes affecting funding.
  • Lead the Learner Numbers System audit process.
  • Continuously assess internal systems, implementing improved procedures and processes to optimize staff efficiency and expertise.
  • Manage attendance recording and monitoring processes.
  • Develop and refine reporting methods to meet the informational needs of the College community.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the College's MIS system to ensure smooth information exchange and data management.

Skills / Experience:

  • Recent experience of a similar role.
  • Evidence of good overall education and examination results.
  • Computer literate with sound knowledge of the requirements of the role.
  • Be flexible in approach and able to adapt to the differing needs of the role. Confidence to work on own initiative.
  • Possess excellent team skills and the ability to contribute to the team and its goals. Be able to work independently and as a member of the team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Excel spreadsheets, data sets and MIS systems or the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Enthusiasm for the role and ability to have an impact on students.
  • Flexibility in working hours around peak times within the College calendar and to assist in other departments to cover peak workloads and absences.
  • Some knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and retain a sense of humour!
